Hello friends ,
Here is one more recycled project for Living room entrance / foyer .
This is a beautiful decoupaged painting of an Indian prince and princess with gold embossing on them, at an window overlooking a tree . I wanted to make something like tree of life . I had this cut out from an wedding invitation which I did not want to through away for long but wasn't very sure what I wanted to do with it. I decided to create a scenic painting with this piece as well as other stuffs I had hoarded planning to give them a new life .
The base used here is a MDF from the Birthday cake base . The MDF base is 12x18 inches and looked perfect to go at my entry way. I have again used wedding invites pictures of the Indian prince and princess cutout here and decoupaged on the Mdf board. The MDF board was primed with Gesso and then painted with chalk paints and acrylics creating a beautiful scene. Gesso is very similar to white acrylic paint, only thinner. It dries hard, making the surface more stiff. Gesso prepares (or "primes") the surface for painting, making the surface slightly textured and ready to accept acrylic paint. Without gesso, the paint would soak into the weave of the canvas.
I have tried to create an picture of an window overlooking an tree.
I'm on an recycling spree in the last few days and if you have been following my blogs you might have already got a glimpse of it all HERE.These projects are all the long pending ones , when I made sure I stored stuffs for recycling basically everything thinking I will do this or that. That's all for today I'm totally happy giving this makeover to my Foyer or adding an Indian touch to my front door decor by recycling the stuffs easily found at our homes.
Thank you so much for visiting & taking the time to comment on my blog. I love to hear from you & truly appreciate your feedback. Have a crafty day!
