Rakhi cards with Mama Elephant In my heart

Hello Friends

Raksha Bandhan means celebrating the unique bond between a brother and a sister... Rakhi is a sacred thread of protection embellished with the love and affection of a sister for her brother. This day of celebration is known as Raksha Bandhan and celebrated on the full moon day of the Hindu month of Shravana in India. It falls on 26th August this year.

I have a great connection with my brothers and the celebration of this day is no less festive occasion for me. Hence I gear up a month before to prepare for this event. I even have a group of friends who live abroad and want me to send rakhis for their brothers in India and I take up to do that for them as well.

Here are my Rakhi cards for this year and I have played with Mama Elephant In my heart stamp set to recreate few of my old creations or as the crafty world says I'm CASING my old cards here.

This stamp set is perfect to share the sentiment of missing the brother on this great occasion. This year I decided to add the boy image along with the girl, unlike the last time...

I have finally overcome my fears of using the distress inks that I have been hoarding and not using !!
I am glad to see how I have improved on my colouring from then to now and finally using more and doing more with my stash!

The last card is a perfect example of stretching my stamps, as I have used many different sentiments from different stamp sets and created a perfect card for the brother.

I'm glad that I didn't go out to find more new stamp sets rather I made the best use of what I have and created such lovely cards with them, that go perfectly for this occasion.
