Layered Cards with tutorial

Hello Friends ,

I have been experimenting lately with my creations and if you have been watching my blogs over the last few months , 52 weeks 52 crafts has been an amazing journey to explore my potentials for me....

In my crafting/ craft blogging life of 7 years I have tried layered cards and people have always appreciated but somehow I never felt the calling for me there . So this was least interest for me but few days back while I was seperating my craft supplies I found some amazing stuffs I have ignored and wanted to put them in use and so again gave a try with Layered cards !

Here is a bonus pictorial for that too :P

I started out with a card stock A2 size ie 4x 5.5" when folded  .
For the first layer I began with a pattern paper which I have given a worn out look using my scissors . I use the basic tool and don't own fancy ones for most of my job !

For the layer 2 I have used wall theme chipboard embellishment , I have cut it into pieces and placed it to my satisfaction . I love to play them on the corners .

I have further layered a Die cut shaped pattern paper on it  with double sided foam glue .

Now I decided to do one more layer and used the left out chipboard embellishment in the center

Further I have added Dcwv chipboard flowers and layered it with die cut pattern paper with sentiment

Finally finished it off with the pink rose buds .

The die I have used is a unbranded die , I have used 2 different sizes from the same set and used my sizzix die cutting machine .

Today is my mom's birthday and this one goes out specially for her :)

Hope you enjoyed the Pictorial of the making of this card as much as I enjoyed making it !

Fairy sparkle cards from Itsy Bitsy

Hello friends

Today i'm here to share a pictorial of using Fairy sparkle glitters by Itsy Bitsy on my cards !

Just before I left for the christmas vacations these lovely Fairy sparkles were sent out to me from Itsy Bitsy team ! Thanks for being patient with me Rashmi Harish and Harish Closepet , I felt I had almost given up crafting when these Fairy sparkles played the magic on me....Thank you both for having faith in me .

Here are the 3 Fairy sparkles I have used - Rich copper Pale copper, Orange flush along with cards stocks , chipboards , Dcwv chipboard elements and Texture Tack glue all from Itsy Bitsy.

I choose to make cards with chipboard elements as shown in the above pictures .

To begin with I have covered my chipboard elements generously with the Texture tack glue with a brush .  This Texture Tack is designed with a special formula that makes it the perfect glue for your texture elements like glitter, sand, sawdust and more. After you apply texture tack to a surface generously and leave it for about 15 -20 minutes, its tackiness increases making it apt for sticking sequins, seed beads, mixed craft sprinkles and their likes firmly to the surface.

I have done this process with all the chipboard star at once and then decided on which colour sparkle to fill them up with.

The fairy sparkle is a wonderful assortment of glitter elements Ideal for creating gorgeous textures and adding depth to cards, tags, album covers, scrapbook layouts and also for altering glass, paper, cork and other surfaces Can be mixed this with mod podge for a mess free application .

Further for this card I have added a tag element on which I have sprayed Color Splash - Ocean Mist.
I have added elements to go along and played with the star placements and finally decided they shall go with a chipboard brick element.

To complete the card I have added a copper coloured string to the tag and matched it up with a pattern paper for the card to give dimension to the creation . Finally added a sentiment to go with the card , what else than a superstar for  a star creation !!

For the Card 2

I have again gone with the tag chipboard . On this chipboard tag I have sprayed Color Splash - Lemon Zing and after it dried I have covered the corners with Texture tack glue .
I have used Texture tack glue here that gives me a added advantage of creating texture as seen here .

I have made sure I dabbed off the excess on the paper before I went ahead with the creation .

I have added Dcwv chipboard element on the glittered base and further added sentiments and a silver glitter heart element to it to complete the look I have gone back to the flowers from the same chipboard collection

I totally enjoyed adding sparkle to my creation and hope you give it a try too !

Magical Birthday shaker card tutorial !

Hello friends ,

Today I am sharing a Birthday card made for a lil girls birthday . This is a 5x7 sized shaker card with chipboard frame. It's an interactive card , locked the sequins using acetate and double sided foam tape. So when you shake the card, the sequins move around. That's the way it works !!

I have the Pink base card cut at at 4" x 12" and scored at 6"
For the shaker frame here I have used a chipboard , you can even do with a higher gsm cardstock .
The chipboard is 3" x 5.5"
use a rectangle die to cut out frame's center .
For the inside of the frame I have used watercolour pattern paper from Itsy Bitsy.

Cut window/acetate sheet slightly smaller than outside dimensions of frame. Line frame with high-tack, double-sided tape and peel release liner from tape .
Add about one teaspoon of chunky glitter to inside cavity of shaker before removing the tape liner
Carefully place window frame on top of the shaker base and burnish edges.
Finally attach it to the base card and decorate it !

I have used Itsy bitsy Clear Stamps - Princess And Dragon here for this card and sentiments from Clearly besotted .
I have used water colour Pattern paper from Itsy Bitsy for background
The golden glitter lace  frame is made with washi tape which I have been hoarding. The card turned out exactly like I had thought of and I glad I finally attempted it !

Valentines theme Accordion Card

Hello friends ,

Today I am here to share a three fold card with tags or as I call it a Valentines theme Accordion Card .

I have taken a 12" x 6 " card stock and scored it at 4" making it a zig zag fold .

Decorated it with vintage papers in the front and for the back end I have made a pocket for the tags.

Tags are decorated with die cuts to match the theme and colours of the card .

This creation and the colours of the card  is totally inspired from my latest travel to Dubai - Miracle garden and this particular scene I clicked !!

My love for papers and ephemeras is very visible on my work and I have further branched out into working with dies and now stamps too! I love the fact that you can incorporate so many techniques and tips in one project.

Clearly Besotted Once Upon a Time Mini card sets

Hello Friends
I am big fan of fairy tales and when I came across these stamp sets from Clearly Besotted Once Upon a Time I couldn't resist them .

I sat up to make Mini card sets with them , each unique and wonderful !!

For these 2 cards  I have tried to give them a polaroid frame look

These are great hit with the kids , I have stamped them and  fussy cut them here .
Further  I went on to colour the images
I have coloured them with copics and combination of zig colour pens, giving me the perfect rich look I always like ! I learnt this late but combining various colour pen mediums  is what works for me best while colouring as I dont own all the shades in Copics and Clean colours.

They go along gifts as gift tags !! How wonderful isn't it !

Mail art for Pen pals

Hello Friends ,
Mail art (also known as postal art and correspondence art) is a populist artistic movement centered on sending small scale works through the postal service. The simplest definition of mail art is that it is any art that’s created with the intention of sending it through the mail. Mail art can include postcards, faux postage, decorated envelopes, friendship books, and the ever popular naked mail.

If you have to mail it to complete the creative experience, it’s mail art!

This is a Mail that went out to a pen pal , I made a Tall card for the first time and really loved the out come . Over the past few years, I have accumulated a lot of pattern paper pads, stamps, stickers ,ribbon, etc.So I have decided that this year, if I feel like I need new inspiration then I'm going to "Shop My Stash". Ever few weeks, I'm going to use my stamps, dies, embossing folders in rotation so that all get used. Also I will be buying only basic crafting stuff that too when required. I am doing 52weeks52crafts to keep myself accountable .

What all went in this mail you can see here -  An envelope filled with goodies with the tag friends
an mini album
an ATC and a Tall card

The front of the envelope filled with goodies has a  mini card attached to it  saying cheers !!

This is a wonderful stamp set named once upon a time by clearly besotted .

The receiver loved each thing carefully chosen for her and that made my day !

I have added a die cut from an unbranded die and  a sentiment from clearly besotted .
I have added pearls on the flowers to enhance the look !

My Crafting Goals for 2018
Sharing my Crafting Goals and putting it up here ; Hoping that this will make me more responsible toward it !

Over the past few years, I have accumulated a lot of pattern paper pads, stamps, stickers ,ribbon, etc.
So I have decided that this year, if I feel like I need new inspiration then I'm going to "Shop My Stash". Ever few weeks, I'm going to use my stamps, dies, embossing folders in rotation so that all get used. Also I will be buying only basic crafting stuff that too when required.

I really enjoy the creative pressure of making a lot of cards during the craft fairs, but I do not post them simultaneously. Making new card really makes me feel good .

I will strive and do my very best to uphold it!

I did participate in a few challenges and to be true, they did help me come out of my comfort zone. I'm planning to do more of it. So, I guess I'm just going to continue doing it more and more and more....

I’m going to start by making regular cards in different shapes, then as I master that .

I have realised that over the years, I make a lot of cards, but forget to post it out on time to my near and dear ones on their special days.

I am going to try, try, try... and keep trying. I had a lot of success last year and I want to do even bigger and better things this coming year - so I have to keep trying!

I follow quite a few blogs I will aim to comment more, to support more and to explore more.
There's a whole load of talent and inspiration out there and I don't want to keep missing it!

This year I want to excel with props and make the aesthetics of card photography more eminent.

I want to do something new this year. So I am thinking of starting a series on my blog. I think I will do a series on card making techniques, that will be fun!.

Yes I will still want to keep getting better and better than what I’m right now, and then better myself some more. But I will do it all whilst having fun. So, I do hope you'll keep joining me throughout 2018 to provide support and encouragement as I keep working towards these goals.
