The Hungry Caterpillar Quilled Photo Frame Card

Hello friends,

I have made a Lovely photo frame card with paper quilling sun & caterpillar based on the story book
 "The Very Hungry Caterpillar"

The photo frame cards are lovely for Quilled presents for kids

Quilled sun

Any one as hungry as this Caterpillar???

quilled caterpillar

This frame is a Hungry caterpillar crafts idea and is very special to me as its based on one of my favourites story for my son!! I love to match stories and craft and here is one activity I have tried based on children's books.

The Very Hungry Caterpillar is a children's picture book designed, illustrated and written by Eric Carle . One Sunday morning, a caterpillar hatches from an egg, and begins to look for some food. He eats through increasing quantities of fruit on the following five days, one apple on Monday, two pears on Tuesday, three plums on Wednesday, four strawberries on Thursday, and five oranges on Friday, and then, on Saturday, he has an enormous feast. By the end of Saturday, the inevitable happens and he is ill. After recovering from a stomach-ache, he returns to a more sensible diet by eating through a large green leaf before spinning a cocoon in which he remains for the following 2 weeks. Later, the "big fat caterpillar" emerges as a beautiful butterfly with large, gorgeous, multi-coloured wings.

It feels awesome to create every day :) I wish I could have done more of quilling but a Mom of a 2.5 year old will know ; what starting a project and finishing it means . I am making the best use of my sons 3 hrs of Montessori class  I feel or its just the energy level & satisfaction that my sons energy is being channelized so I am able to peacefully create :) I am making all those things I had added in my "To Do" creation lists , each day a new creation from that check list........feeling great checking them out!!

thanks for dropping in

HEART Tree for the super hero's

Hello friends ,
We are busy preparing for Fathers day!!We are done with Dad's gift ,
We (ie, Dhruv & me) even planned fathers day gift for Grandad's.....
Crafting with kids is so much fun!

The interesting thing is Dhruv's paternal grand dad is celebrated his 60th birthday y'day & my Dad ie maternal grand dad is celebrating his birthday on 17th june ie Fathers day:)

Heart Tree Inspired by Roopa from putti prapancha

Dhruv wanted me to trace both his hands so 2 different hands for the grand dad's haven't decided which one goes to whom, but Dhruv did enjoy the peeling off sticker covers & even wanted to pluck back some stuck hearts:)

Used some Small punched hearts & felt sticker hearts from Itsy Bitsy

Please Share what you are up to for fathers day:)

For our Favourite Super Hero!!!

Hello Friends

Lots of stuffs happening in my life since I blogged last:)

D my son 2.5 started with his school- toddlers:) routines & adjustments keeping me busy:)

Crafting with Dhruv- finally Dhruv is sitting down with me & crafting!!

He got his first coulour pencils from his paternal grand mom as a 2nd yr birthday gift since then he is scribbling & I have found a new way to use all those scribbling now will soon have a blog on it!!!

Since Dhruv loves tracing his hands & legs we only did that till few days back when I happen to find Roopa from Putti Prapancha blog & she has lovely creations inspired by it we planned our fathers day gift...........

The gift made is for Dhruv's DAD - our Fav Super Hero
I love the sentiment "I FEEL SAFE IN UR HANDS"!!

  • I traced dhruv's dad's hand & coloured it red as its his fav colour:)
  • Dhruv loves this activity of tracing his hand and this time he helped me colour his hand trace with pencil & stamp pad technique. Very simple and interesting technique, pencil eraser and ink pad. You can do a q-tip dipped in different color paints also here . Easy and fun!!
  • I cut both the traces hands and layered theme one on the other
  • I did the sentiment writing for him but dhruv left a thumb print as his signature along with the "love dhruv"

Dhruv's dad is out of station & he will be back on Saturday Now the only challenge is to get him to wait till Sunday before showing it to Papa!!! Arghhh!

What are u making this weekend for "Fathers Day"????

Thank you so much for visiting & taking the time to comment on my blog. I love to hear from you & truly appreciate your feedback. Have a crafty day!
